Abuja Capital International College opened in September 2002. It is planned as a privately owned, co-educational, non-denominational, day and boarding school with a capacity for 500 students of all nationalities aged 10 – 18 years. Governance is vested in an invited Board of Trustees.

In September 2003 Abuja Capital International College offered years 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. The College expands by one year annually as students move up the school.

Abuja Capital International College launched its British standard Nursery and Primary level education in the academic year 2010-2011.

Abuja Capital International College has been awarded attached membership of the Cambridge International Primary Programme by University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). The college is also used as venue for international exams  such as IELTS, ACCA, CIPS, Univ. of London, Cambridge Exams for oral languages , Cambridge practical exams for ICT, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The College graduates it's 5th set in July 2011.

The college added new additional playground facilities i.e. ( trampoline, slide, swings , monkey bars, see-saw etc.) for the Nursery and primary level.
